I love this thingI have had no issues. I love this thing. For some reason my back is always hurting and I find that when I use this, I actually need to use it less and less. It makes your back itch yes, but that's how you know its working. I often get professional massages for constant pain between my shoulder blades, and I can honestly say that this machine works better than the professional massage therapists (at least in for my chronic pain). It loosens up scar tissue to allow for more flexibility. I am happy with my purchase, no mechanical issues either.5Bummed...the speed dial doesn t work in any other speed except slow.I have owned this before and it was AWESOME! However, I had to reorder because the electric cord was ripped out by accident to my old one.(my fault) I received it in great time, but there is an issue with the speed button. If I roll it up to the highest power/speed of massage, it stays there until I place it on my shoulder or leg to massage and then it immediately goes down to the lowest speed. It will not stay in any speed other then low.Just bummed, I use this a lot. I have a disease and when my legs or shoulders ache it helps me get rid of the problems.3Strong but heavyThis was recommended to me by a therapist for my sciatica. I love the strength and various massage settings that it has. It works well to get deep into my muscles. My only complaint would be that the weight is very unbalanced. The handle is very long for the weight on the massaging end. It is difficult to carry from the handle unless you re just reaching behind your head to massage your back. I need it more for my quads, hamstrings and lower back so I have to hold it around the controls in order to not hurt my wrist. Overall, totally worth it!4OhMyGoshILoveThisMachine!I had another machine similar to this that recently broke. Over the years of having a percussion massager it has almost become a necessity to have. I am a migraineur and getting my neck and shoulders loosened up is sometimes critical in getting rid of a migraine. So when mine broke and the exact replacement was not available on PRIME, I just went with this one (hoping it would work, but knowing I could still order the other and deal with this one until it arrived... at least it was better than nothing!)This one is far better than my old one in that it is shorter (I'm not tall, so I really don't need a long reach to get to the middle of my back) and lighter weight. It's really, really light weight. It comes with 2 attachment heads. One of them has all these "bristles" that I will probably never use because it looks frightening. The other looks like a nipple (it has a little nub on it to get into some real small spots) and that will work great for knots.I love this and will remember this when I have a birthday gift to give to someone. No kidding. It's REALLY great!5ITS A AWESOME JACKHAMMER BEAST FOR THOSE TIGHT HARD MUSCLES! GREAT DEAL!I don't know why I waited over three years to write this review but I probably forgot about it because I had some serious health issues going on back then. Anyway, this massager is awesome! It is somewhat large and heavy for me but it has the right weight when you use it over your should and need that extra heft to go along with the strong vibrations. Its like a jackhammer in a way because it has a strong tapping or "bobbing" action that works on super tight muscles. My shoulders get hard as rocks and nothing can soften them except this machine. Also, I get low back pain and pain deep in my glutes. If you've ever been to a massage therapist and laid face down on the table and had him/her use their elbow to massage out your hip and butt muscles, then you know what I am talking about. This device gets into the larger muscles that most massagers can't even deal with because they don't have the size and the weight. With smaller or inferior massagers (and more expensive I might add), you have to use a strong pressure. But not with this thing! This has its own action and weight to it to do most of the work.Like some people said, there is the infrared on the back side of it which in a way, sort of makes it useless because you want the infrared and the massager to work as a one-step unit but unfortunately, it isn't. Personally, that aspect didn't bother me because I have bean bags, neck wraps, and other stuff I can use for the heat therapy part. Even without infrared, this massager is still worth it for me! And it is very inexpensive compared to the compact power you get out of it.The other really good aspect other than its power, is that it has a scrolling action to increase or decrease the rate of vibration from very low to very high gradually so that you do not have to push a button multiple times to get the right rate. The "tapping" or "bobbing" ("jackhammer") effect does not diminish with the increase or decrease of vibration and remains constant. I use the dome with the tip on my shoulders. The regular dome is okay but doesn't break through the hard shoulder muscles as easily in my opinion. For me, it cuts the session time in half because I don't have to work as hard or use my own strength to get the device to get into the muscles. I had two other massagers that were "light weight" compared to this and I threw them away because I was doing most of the work trying to get through the thick muscle tissues, especially trying to get to the hard to reach places on your back and shoulders. This thing can handle large muscle groups like quads (thighs), hamstrings, butt muscles, and shoulder muscles and had a big enough head end to cover a decent area. The attachment parts are made of hard plastic, not porous. They won't give like some massagers. This is a good thing if you need to deal with locked up muscles. It makes noise but not as much as you would think considering its power and size. These are the pros! Now the cons, if you can call it that. The device has only three interchangeable heads. One is dome shaped. The other is dome shaped with a kind of nub at the top of the dome. And the third is a hard bristle end - which I suppose is useful if you want to rub all your skin off your scalp or body part to take it down to the bone. I mean, maybe I am missing something here but I think something more clever (for the ladies/) would be a better accessory to this "master blaster". The other con is that the cord could be longer. I measured the cord and it is 68 inches - about 5.5 feet or so long. And that is barely enough to reach a wall outlet and get to the sofa or chair and use it comfortably. I wish it had a battery operation option. For me, this is a mighty powerful massager and worth every penny! I wish it had some additional attachments to make things more interesting but it is a beast when it comes to getting the knots and steel plates off your shoulders, back, and legs. Highly recommended!5good product, good product supportI've been buying hand held massagers for many years. One thing that has been true, no matter how much they cost, is that they don't last a long time -- two to five years on average. I used to buy the ultra expensive thumpers, but they wear out too. So I've been buying this product for years. It has pretty good, deep action, which is necessary for really tight and painful muscles.I purchased this product in October, replacing one I'd had for years. This one died after 5 months, and the company replaced it promtly. I was impressed.I want to add I purchased a cheaper model prior to getting this one, and the thumping action was so weak it was more or less worthless, so I returned it and went back to this product, and I'm glad that I did.5Better than what you pay forBought this product based on the reviews for the price. After opening it, I immediately thought the "you get what you pay for" saying applies here. The quality of the product itself is not stellar but for the price, I wasn't surprised. The switch to turn the product on/off/light on does not match the indicators on the product itself and it feels cheaply built overall. The attachments screw on but every time I was screwing an attachment on, I thought I was stripping it because it was "wobbling" as I tightened it. This wasn't actually the case but rather just how the product was made.More importantly though, how does it work? Well the thought "you get what you pay for" doesn't quite apply here. It's better than I was expecting. I'm no massager connoisseur but of the ones I've used before, this was on par with products far more expensive. Oh, and the IR light, based on the reviews, I didn't even bother with that so I can't tell you how that works.Overall, would I buy it again? Yes but it's a borderline yes.3OK, but definitely not for everyone. This massager works OK for someone with strong arms, long reach, and high pain tolerance. Given that, it does relieve tight muscles quickly.Unfortunately, I bought it for my Mother, who is an elderly woman with short arms, and who bruises easily. The unit is very heavy and it's hard to reach the entire back with it. Also, it beats up on you like a prize boxer. The lower setting does not make the hammer stroke any lighter, it just decreases the frequency. In some areas it's just too much. Using it on the neck feels downright dangerous - it shakes the whole head and feels like it might break it (the neck, that is). To my mind, a massager that cannot be used on the neck loses a lot of it's usefulness, since the neck is often the problem. So it is useless for my Mother. I am not sure if I will keep it for myself. It does help my shoulders and upper back very well, and the heat option is good, but I would much prefer a unit that has gentle as well as hard options.I can't recommend it, unfortunately.3Design Flaw! Lemon? The new design is flawed. The plastic "label" on the controls peeled off within 2 uses leaving the interior of the machine exposed (it isn't just a label - it's also the cover for the controls). I could have still used it, but within a week, the "thumper" broke and started making a terrible racket. In the past the design has been the very best I have found for massaging knotted muscles - finding something that works for sore muscles was challenging and I was so happy to find one that did what it said it would. I am hoping that this was just a lemon. However, if it turns out that this was a one off lemon, the label is still a bad design and poorly made. And there is a "no return" policy on the machine.1WOW this is not your foo-foo vibrating messager. It is a pounding action and it feels good. This is not a "light" touchy feely massage. This definitely pounds the muscles.I just received this on Saturday. I've had a tight, sore neck/back muscle for a while. It just wouldn't work it out on its own.I ordered this to see if I can have something long term versus a professional masseuse (and the cost of them). On Saturday night I massaged the muscle. It was still sore today (Sunday).I did another "treatment" tonight but the muscle seemed to be less tight and "a little" less sore. Could be just a placebo effect where "I'm doing something therefore its better". I will report back later this month (Jan 2015) if I can remember. What I like is that there are:1) The curved design definitely adds to getting right on your back muscles.2) The handle has protrusions so that it does not easily slip from your hand.3) The intensity is definitely excellent.4) It came with three heads. The one you see in the picture is one. It unscrews and there is a Finger head to dig deep, and a stiff brush which I think is for your scalp. I'll stick with the regular round one. It does state in the manual that you CAN cause tissue damage. Cool. That means its intense enough to work out my muscles.5) The cord is long enough.6) The controls are easy to use without looking at them. You can change intensity with the wheel control while you are messaging.7) The weight is excellent and keeps the pounding focused where you have the head. There is no wobble nor movement cause by it pounding and wanting to move one way or the other.8) If feels solid in your hand.9) Its ready right out of the box.I wish they would have explained a little more about how to use the heads and then also how the Infrared works. You will find this out when you do it, if you hit your spine (or any bone) as you move it, the unit will bounce.I would recommend this and it seems like hundreds of others had a similar positive experience.5
