Customer Reviews

Can't recommend this too highly. Works perfectly. Comfortable and effective. Well-priced.Wasn't really sure what to expect when looking at the on-line photo . . . . . but have been completely delighted since opening the package and actually putting this hernia truss on. Does exactly what it is designed to do perfectly. Well-built, comfortable, well-priced. Has held my hernia in place since day one with no discomfort. Love the fact that you can wear it over your boxers. Superior item at a fair price. 5Works great for me.Does the job. Has enough flex to allow placing the pad right on the correct place. Have used it daily for several weeks, including during workouts at the gym and running my four mile route.Comfort? Well, no tight belt could be considered unnoticeable, but I wear this all day long with no breaks and find it worthwhile...better than having an uncomfortable and worrisome bulge poke out. Definitely feels better wearing it than not wearing it. 5Not impressedI find that this belt did not hold in the hernia, even after adding more and more padding to the pocket. More padding would last a day, then the pocket would stretch further outward (away from the body) and I'd be back to discomfort. The wider elastic bands around the side are more comfortable, but the edges are sharp and will cut if your boxers beneath them slip down too low. Thankfully I bought this as a backup; I bought another belt on Amazon a year and a half ago and while it is more uncomfortable to wear, at least it keeps things in place the way it should (this was Amazon item B00DNNJQ7E). If this particular belt had a more sturdy pocket and a far better foam pad, it could be a winner. Unfortunately it is not, and it is also not returnable once used, so I'm stuck with it. 2Works well for supporting hernia. No issulles there. Sizing seems to be a small issue though.I ordered med for a 34-35 waist and the waistband had to be totally snugged on tightest setting. The strap that goes through your crotch and up and across your butt had to be pulled through the waistband and wrapped around it before securing. It s almost like they mislabeled a large and sent me that. Anyway, I washed it in a washing machine warm cycle, and med heat dry cycle and it shrunk a bit. I repeated this 3 times and now the thing fits properly. So if yours is too loose, it s easy to fix.The cost seems a bit excessive for such a simple thing (a jockstrap is $10-15 in the sports store). I am trying a cheaper brand for the second one i m getting, just so I can have a clean spare. It really does work to support the hernia. I have backed off on really gut wrenching activity, and I take it easy in the weight room. I still play hockey, run, hike, motorcycle off road etc, but I ask for help lifting truly heavy things now.(until the surgery this winter) 4Easy to get OverconfidentAt the beginning of my hernia, this was a Godsend. Kept it tucked in nicely under a pair of compression shorts. Most likely, I "He-Manned" it well too much, and I was much too overconfident in my own selfish vigor (I am very active). This will not keep you from skydiving, kayaking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, running marathons, or lifting heavier weight than a normal human WITHOUT ripping that intestine out to your hip bone. My intestines won the battle. That being said, it is an EXTREMELY USEFUL tool to keep those innards in place while quietly waiting for your surgery...quietly, like watching TV, or taking a walk in the park. Do not think you have to snug it in so tight it cuts off your circulation...at that point, your hernia is already in control. The pad is well enough, don't try to put a cinder block in it to stop your intestines from exploding. I found this product extremely comforting and comfortable...so much in fact, I found myself overdoing it. 5 stars, because it did what it was supposed to...Unfortunately, "I" didn't do what "I" was supposed to. 5Works great; how to measureHere's a picture of the measuring instructions from the box. If you get the right size the truss works great, limiting how much the hernia can pop out. Note that some reliable websites say a truss can do more harm than good. I asked my primary care doctor about this, and he said he would wear the truss as long as it doesn't cause any pain. But it's only a temporary measure until you can get the hernia repaired surgically. I've had to put off surgery because of other health issues. 5Works!Works great. Foam pad can be insufficient but you can fab another from thicker material if necessary. With turmeric and a truss, you can heal a hernia. Don't let doctors sell you their most expensive product: surgery. Most hernias are not harmful or even potentially dangerous. Try this for a few months and take it easy. Also make sure to work out lightly so the muscles will tear and heal. I no longer need this after being diagnosed with a hernia. It took a couple months, but now I use this to hold a pistol holster when wearing shorts. 5I called this my "Magic Thong"I suffered a single side inguinal hernia that was uncomfortable and at times painful. It wasn't deemed an "emergency" situation so between occurrence and surgery was a delay of several weeks. This magic device helped me immensely through that period of time. I lived in it except while taking showers or periods of time when it was drying after washing. It was pretty slim so I could fit it under my dress slacks for work without any significant problems. So the good side is it worked well for me. The downsides? It was somewhat uncomfortable. The strap that goes front the front to the rear is sturdy (good) but mildly rough so it irritated the skin in the inguinal fold region (bad). Also the item is heavy duty elastic material that is hand wash only and can't go in the dryer so it takes many hours to dry. I typically washed it in the evening before I went to bed and it was mostly dry in the morning after I'd shower, but I live in a very dry climate. However there were some nights the hernia was very uncomfortable and I wanted to wear the truss to bed which created a minor dilemma. In hindsight I should have bought two, but at the time I didn't know if it would work or how long I'd need to use it. In summary, for my situation the positives more than outweighed the negatives and I was happy with my purchase. If the other inguinal side goes in the future I'll definitely be buying a couple more of these. 4Way too tight, using their instruction for measuring.Had to return. I used their method to measure, and it was too small to fit. Had to go with next size up. 2The moderate relief this thing provides is worth every penny.I'm forced to wait 9 days until I see a surgeon for my new inguinal friend. The moderate relief this thing provides is worth every penny. It's keeping my intestine inside the abdominal wall pretty-much 24/7. It's easy to wrap over boxers and designed well. I'm ordering another so I can always have a clean one.Only six days left until I can schedule surgery! Can't wait to pay my $1500 deductible after waiting in pain for a month. Isn't American healthcare great? 5
