Great on Hamburgers, Steak and PorkI'm not quite sure what is about this seasoning that makes it so good, but it has quickly become one of my favorites. Not only is this seasoning great on Hamburgers (as the name would suggest) it is also really good on steak and pork. Was also very pleased to see that Amazon had a larger container for sale; the small shakers at supermarket are just too small.5I will definitely be buying this again.A number of years ago while at a large home show, we came across a vendor who sold home made spice blends. They had sample dips, soups, and other foods so that we could actually taste some of them. We bought a few, including a mesquite blend. Each year we went back to the vendor's booth at the show and bought some spice blends and always the mesquite. The vendor quit going to the home shows but sold some of the blends online, where we purchased for a couple more years. They are no longer being sold online so I started searching for a mesquite blend.I found Grill Mates Mesquite Seasoning by McCormick and thought I would give it a try. It has a slightly different taste than our previous mesquite blend, but it is very good. The McCormick seasoning has a bold flavor of pepper, garlic, onion, and salt. The mesquite flavor is noticeable without being overpowering. Hubby has been using it on various types of meat on the grill. I'm going to try it in a dip and on some grilled veggies next. The mesquite seasoning that I bought was the 24 oz. size, which is quite big for seasoning. But at the rate we are using it, I will soon be needing more. I will definitely be buying this again.5So far, we very much like this seasoning for seafood, but not limited to seafoodSo far, I have used this seasoning primarily on fish including salmon and whitefish. It is a little on the peppery side, but we like it. I bought this to replace a very expensive seasoning that we have been getting from Vital Choice where we buy all of our seafood. This seasoning is different, but it is really very good. I plan to use it on other foods in the future.UPDATE 8/12/18:I have been using this seasoning on most of our seafood which I normally bake. I coat the fish with olive oil and sprinkle on this seasoning. It is wonderful on anything I have used it on. I do wonder about the ingredient called Natural Flavors as this can be a catch all for GMO ingredients. Even so, it tastes great, and GMO ingredients can be impossible to avoid.UPDATE 02/04/19:I have been using this seasoning on all of our fish fillets, and is's almost half gone. At this point, I wouldn't use any other seasoning for our seafood. We all love it, and I will have to order more soon.5Salmon SeasoningCould not find in the store [any size] I bought 2. I make brown rice in the Instant Pot, (1 cup brown rice, 1 cup water: 20 minutes on high). When it is done. Mix a tsp or 2 of this with the rice and it is so tasty. Also great if you make your own oil / vinegar salad dressing.5great flavorwe love this on ribs, steaks , pork chops, not too heavy just enough flavor to kick up the taste. i dont drink (not a moral decision i dislike the taste of hard liquor) so the bourbon is not strong enough to make me cringe.5GOOD STUFF MAYNARDGreat on fish. I added chile or chipolte to give it some bite. But I am in New Mexico and we roll like that. We are experimenting on other foods because it is not too salty with really good flavor. .5Perfect for smoked chickenWe like to have chicken roasted on our Traeger smoker grill almost once a week and this is the seasoning we like best. It works best if you spray the chicken with a thin coat of oil like Pam. I found I like the Baker's Joy spray that coats the chicken with a layer of oil and flour. The spray makes the seasoning adhere to the chicken, and the flour just adds a certain indefinable something. I think it makes the skin just a bit more crispy.
