Excellent Results & Taste (Watermelon)I ve been use nutricost products for about 5 months now and they sell quality products at a very low price. I tested this out and it does help with workout performance and also helps recover from muscle soreness that happens after a day of intense workout. The next day I was barely sore, I noticed if I don t take this BCAA before, during and after my workout session, then I m painfully sore the next day. BCAA helps recovery time a lot. Also the watermelon flavor is great. The bottle says to add to 8 ounces of water, but I add 1-2 scoops to an 16 ounces of water instead. This product does actually work, and if you want something that will help you with the soreness, this product will help you with that. I also use nutricosts pre-workout, fish oil capsules, l-glutamine, creatine mono., etc. They sell many products that save our money and delivery quality products. I m thinking to try out the coconut and pineapple flavor of BCAA. FYI: if you decide to order their unflavored-glutamine, you should know that it tastes really bad, they also have flavored l-glutamine, if you mistakenly bought the unflavored l-glutamine just mix it with BCAA (watermelon) and it does a great job of completely masking the bad flavor. Creative unflavored tastes good with water actually. But be careful with the unflavored products. I recommend buying small bottles of different flavors first and seeing which ones you like, mix stuff as needed. I hope this review helps. I didn t see anyone leave a detailed and decent review to decided to go in depth. Also, for my pre-workout I add that to 500mL (17oz) of water not 8-12oz. It s alsways good to add these powders to plenty of water for proper digestion, especially the pre-workout since it has caffeine. If you take a pre-workout with 300mg if caffeine you need to mix/drink plenty of water, otherwise you will get severe constipation. Other than that, Nutricost sells great products, just make sure you use them properly. I hope they come out with more products too. 5I do not like sweets. ]First, I do not like sweets.], but I would like to say despite other reviews, this stuff taste great at the fraction of the price of big name supplements. I did not go by directions, I just filled my workout shaker as usual. I will be a life time user. I make my own pre-workout supplement, and this is the ticket, I am using same ingredients as Jym pre-workout, and will update with results. Anyhow, A+++++ on product. I wish they would offer deals for bulk. 4Great price, great tasteI am comparing the taste to other commercial BCAA supplements; all BCAA are bitter and some formulations mask the bitterness well. The green apple flavor is sweet (and very bright green) and tastes markedly less bitter than most every other brand of flavored BCAA powder I have tried. The low price (especially the 1 kg container) is an added reason to use this brand. 5Best BCAA you can buy if you want the real deal.First off, for anyone who doesn't already know this, BCAA powder on it's own tastes terrible. It is possibly one of the worst tasting things in the world. That's just how it is. Why, you ask, would one choose to consume it in this form, as opposed to taking capsules or using the super-artificially flavored stuff? Well, #1) The amount that you need to take is pretty large, an amount that is about equivalent to 15-20 capsules. If you buy BCAA already in capsules, you will either need to consume an insane number of pills (which is not cost effective) or take incredibly tiny dosages that are basically pointless. The flavored stuff may be a better option for some people, but I prefer to consume the least amount of artificial flavorings and sweeteners as possible. I have not tried the flavored version from Nutricost, so I can't say anything about it being more palatable.I did use a BCAA powder a few years ago that was very palatable. The only issue was that it contained some artificial sweeteners, which was the reason I decided not to reorder it. If you don't care about artificial sweeteners and prefer something that has an acceptable taste, you might want to consider trying NaturoNitro: Naturo Nitro Atlas, BCAA Instantized Powder, Best Branched Chain Amino Acids, 28 Servings, 5.5g Per Serving, Lemon Lime Flavor. However, if avoiding artificial sweeteners is a priority for you, this Nutricost BCAA powder is the best you'll find.Since I prefer to suffer the terrible taste of the pure powder I used the unflavored version. This is not a criticism of this brand; BCAA is just inherently gross. We, as humans, are not designed to consume amino acids directly; we are designed to consume meat (which does taste pretty darn good) and then break it down internally into amino acid components.I did one time actually encapsulate this BCAA powder, myself, since I have a bunch of empty gelatin capsules that I often use to make my own supplement capsules. However, the main problem with doing this is #1) It takes about 15-20 capsules per dosage, AND: #2) this powder is incredibly hygroscopic so it becomes clumpy within minutes since it attracts the moisture in the air almost immediately. It's very hard to work with.With that caveat out of the way, I have nothing but good things to say about this product. Here's what I like:1) It's made in the USA. This is increasingly rare and at times impossible to find. This brand is one of the few that seems to make all their supplements in the USA. Other brands are produced in China (even if they are 'packaged' in the USA) which means: little/no regulation or oversight and you really have no way to know what horrible contaminants you might be ingesting.2) It works. I know most people use BCAA prior or after going to the gym to improve recovery time. I use this for a different purpose: to minimize PEM (post exertional malaise) which is a debilitating symptom of CFS/ME. If I start to feel PEM starting (which usually begins with dead arms), I take a dose of BCAA as one of my interventions. The relief is fairly immediate, though not long lasting. However, the fact that it is effective tells me that the product is what it's advertised as being.3) Buying it like this (as bulk powder) is cost-effective, much more so than other brands in capsules.Overall, I'm extremely happy with both this company and this product, specifically. If you have alot of after muscle workout soreness, then this will help alot.Does it taste gross? Yes all BCAA"s should. But mix it with something sweet and it will be fine.Great price for decent concentration of BCAA's in a large container. Very economical. 5Best Raw BCAAsI have tried a lot of different BCAAs, both flavored and unflavored (raw). Unflavored BCAAs aren't supposed to taste great. These taste neither great nor bad. Some raw BCAAs made me gag, especially if they didn't mix well. Not to mention, most raw, unflavored, fermented BCAAs smell like a dirty wet dog. Nutricost is by far the best experience I've had with raw BCAAs in regards to mixing, taste, smell, and of course, the notable improvements in workouts and physique. Nutricost unflavored BCAAs mixes well and doesn't settle to the bottom. It also doesn't leave a gritty sand feeling in your mouth/teeth. Also, it is not that bad to "dry scoop" if you are feeling like you need a little edge in your life. It does not really smell like anything, nor does it taste like what you expect raw amino acids to taste like. I will definitely keep buying from Nutricost. I have already bought several other products from them, and I have nothing but good things to say. Also, it is made in America, so you cannot go wrong supporting Patriotism. 5I see now why almost all BCAA powders are so full of sweeteners and flavorsSmells like a wet dog. Tastes nasty. But it's free of unwanted chemicals, it's perfectly effective, and it's by far the best value I have found as in cost per serving. Just be prepared to find your own way to make it palatable and don't breathe when you open the container! I mix mine with cold guayusa tea along with a scoop each of citrulline malate and d-ribose, my healthy and perfect pre- and intra-workout energy drink. 5So far so good...nope changed my mind.So far so good...I like the price and the fact that there are no artificial flavors in the un-flavored option. I take before and immediately after my workouts on an empty stomach. The taste doesn't bother me...I've had much worse! I would much rather taste a supplement in its raw form than artificial sweeteners. Thanks for a solid product.***Update*** After consuming two containers of this product and being very satisfied, I ordered my third. This time the product tasted very different and did not sit well with me when consumed on an empty stomach. I reached out to the company to find out if there was a change in the formula and was pretty much ignored. I am changing my review to 3 stars and will seek out a comparable product from another company. 3Simple, Quality BCAAs Without the NonsenseI waited several weeks to give a review, so that it was more useful than simply a review on the taste. This is the best value I ve ever seen for BCAAs. My training intensity has improved similarly to how it does with creatine supplementation. There s been a visible improvement in my overall body comp (mind you, I train 4-6 days a week and my diet is somewhat clean ). So, clearly an effective supplement. The taste is horrible, which is a good sign, since no quality bcaa supp is going to taste good! I ve watched videos comparing the difference between quality bcaa powders mixability and ones that are filled with garbage, and I believe this is up to snuff. I got the unflavored one because I wanted it as simple as possible and with the least amount of unnecessary ingredients possible. The ingredients are just bcaas; nothing more! But don t think for a second that you can comfortably drink this without mixing it lol(and I ve consumed all types of herbal supplements that would make the average person projectile vomit at the mere smell of them haha). I use True Lemon packets; fewest sugars and fewest ingredients and it ends up tasting about as good as a powder that s twice as costly. $21 for 90 servings with the ideal 2:1:1 ratio is such tremendous value that I hardly see a point buying BCAAs anywhere else, and will order again, possibly forever 4Disappointed loyal customerI m super disappointed esupplements. I bought the exact same product back in May, and so when I went to reorder I just went back to my previous order, and hit buy again. It pulled up your same product so I bought it. You can see something has changed. Bottom line is you ve lowered the bcaa s to 6g per serving vs 8g. Plus there were 64 servings in the original, larger container, vs 60 in the new, smaller one. So there s now 471g in the smaller container, vs the 500g that was in the original container, even though it costs $4.95 more. It is being marketed as the same product, but it clearly is not. You ve changed formulation or scoop size for the bcaa grams per serving to have changed, and the volume to cost ratio is different. 3
