Stale Stale STale, Returning. BUT RETURNS NOT ALLOWED.7-25-19 So obviously no one is reading these things. I received an email from the seller asking if I was enjoying my Red Bird Mints. and there was a link to this exact page. Answer... No read on, I'll not repeat myself. 7-19-19. It gets worse! RETURNS NOT ALLOWED! I m stuck with 2 containers of stale hard mints. 7-18-19 Just received my order of two containers of Red Bird Mints. The What a bummer!! First off the box was leaking mints! When I removed the very loosely applied packing tape there was a gap where the box top was did not meet allowing mints to be coming out of the packaging. Well inside the box were the two plastic containers of mints that were not closed and there were mints all over the box and in the containers. I scooped them up and divided between the two tubs. Now to the WORST part, the mints are stale. The exterior is hard and after you bite through it there is a little bit of the puffy candy I expected, then the center is as hard as a Starlight mint. What is the deal with selling stale candy. It's going back! No thank you Amazon. These will not be going to my office or my church.Older post...Not true of my current candy. We have these in the foyer of our church. Everyone has minty fresh breath and it's great. The kids cannot get enough of them. I also have them on my front counter at work. Only Problem is I cannot stop eating them. My goldendoodle loves them too! We have a strict "no people food" rule for him, but one day I dropped a candy on the floor and before I could grab it he had it in his mouth. Now whenever he hears the cellophane crinkling he comes running.1THE ORIGINAL - Genuine as long as it says Red Bird I had forgotten how good these mints are. We encountered them in a high quality restaurant in Jacksonville Beach, FL, and I began a search. They were being sold by the manufacturer on E-Bay. Then that source dried up.FINALLY - the manufacturer is selling them on Amazon!! Which reminds me that you need to do your diligence when buying these mints. You can pay as much as two or three times the price at which the manufacturer sells these mints. Along those lines, the picture shows their 320 piece bin. Some sellers will only show the net weight with no piece count. Look around - hit the other sellers link and check the prices carefully!These are excellent, old fashioned, melt in your mouth, no poisonous HFCS, nor artificial sweeteners. Just PURE deliciosity !!5I have tried and. Be careful. Candy quality goes from fabulous to inediblePiedmont Candy has NO Help. NO HElP. In a fit of disappointment I finally threw the bad stuff out. ATE the last good piece from the good order and promised myself I would tell the world how great this candy can be BUT; never, ever BUY it because you will probably get a BAD BATCH! And end up throwing it out. The company is only a recording!!!! received my second order of Redbird peppermint candy. My first order was a delight to view and a joy to eat. My second order was a horrendous disappointment. The candy color was not bright white and Christmas red. It was the color of dirty cream and faded running shorts. The texture of the first candy was soft and melted in your mouth. The flavor was a delicious, delicate taste of mint. I know this because I don t like mint and these candies touched my taste buds with the aroma of a soft mint leaf with the most wonderful flavor. I ate and ate and ordered another bucket of candy. This candy gave new meaning to the word disappointing. The break-a-tooth hard. And the flavor is directly from a medicine bottle. I can t serve this candy. I can t put it in a candy dish. It s inedible and ugly. I m flabbergasted that any would send such an unacceptable product. Beware! Buying this candy is a gamble. I m sad that this product turned so offensive5Surprising variation mint-to-mintEDIT Feb 2020: The packaging clearly reads that the candy is hand-made...and sharing with friends was overwhelmingly positive, so I may order again. Although I want to try the sticks next time. I can t give 5 stars because the quality and taste differs so widely from mint to mint and that surprised me. Do not expect to buy this bin and give gifts from it, because some wrappers have two mints and some wrappers have zero or a partial mint inside and some wrappers have multiple crushed pieces of multiple mints inside. Some of the packages were even open! (The candy gets hard and weird in those.) The flavors also vary widely. I grabbed three mints at a time as a treat for myself and too often had different levels of mint and sweetness in each. Each tasted a bit different, like when you make cookie dough from scratch and don t mix it well enough and some cookies have more salt, some more sugar, etc. Because of the high variation mint to mint and the fact that due to that variation we cannot gift it, I docked a star. They are fun to eat because the outer shell is most often hard and the inside dissolves away and they re sugar, so addictive. Okay as a casual item to share. Not okay for teacher gifts, gifting, or parties where you want each person to experience the same amount/size and flavor. I realize handmade items have variation, so I ll accept that some mints are smaller or larger than others, but not mixing the ingredients well enough and not having the same count of mints per package for most of the packages and not sealing the majority of the packages...those are not okay.4Better Than Best Candy...Timely delivery! Great! Melts in your mouth. (The only problem is controlling how many you eat in a short period.) Added value is that I still have room for solid food when I should eat. Now that's amazing. Love it!5I love these mintsI use soft peppermints for my throat issues,if I have a sore throat,or my throat needs to be soothed,or if I have a cough. I wil get a cup and I will do a 3 parts mix.I use these peppermints,lemon juice to cover the peppermints and salt to taste.I pour the lemon juice over 6to10 peppermints with a little salt,then lightly stir and let the mints dissolve.After the mints dissolve,stir again,then taste.I drink it one teaspoon at a time as needed.These mints are also great alone as a breath freshener. 5In a word: addictive I ve purchased these, two times. Both times, the mints arrived in a tub turned sideways in an Amazon box. Unfortunately, the lid for the tub has come off (both times), and the wrapped mints are spilled out within the Amazon box. Not a huge issue. But, maybe by saying something, Amazon will change their packing method for this product. Also, don t expect perfection. Sometimes, there will be multiple mints in a wrapper, and sometimes there will be only a fragment of a mint. Personally, these minor issues are far outweighed by the excellent flavor. To put it mildly: I bet you can t eat just one.5Worst mints I have ever bought on Amazon. I really don t think they are made by Red Bird.Very unhappy with these mints. Instead of white and red, they are an ugly off-white and red color. Instead of melting in your mouth, they are hard and taste disgusting.1Absolutely deliciousOh my goodness! ! These are the BEST!!!! These are so delicious I tried Bob's they're stale like other people had said on the reviews but I figured I'd try it anyway well they were too hard and not a lot of peppermint flavor so I went to a store and I bought the red bird I didn't realize anything about red bird but they were so soft and so delicious that I looked at the packet to see what brand they were an Amazon carry them and I was so happy you never want another peppermint beside red bird after you've had5Puffs that are light and melt in your mouth.These provide a sweet refreshing mint taste and they do melt in your mouth, as good puffs should. The candies are NOT SOFT like a taffy or caramel, but NOT HARD like a hard-sucker candy: what they are is SOLID and AIRY. I purchased because I needed individually wrapped, kosher, nut-free candy, and these were a nice flavor addition to typical fruity flavors of other candy on the market. The storage tub is easy to open and seal back up again. A few candies came broken. There were about 10 pieces that mistakenly had 2 candies to a wrapper. I couldn't use the irregulars for my my event, but even so, plenty were in the tub (total of 320 pieces) for my needs. Mint lovers will enjoy these. Remember: they are not sugar-free!5
