Customer Reviews

Starbucks French Roast is betterI ordered 160 of these, thinking that I liked the Sumatra K-cups I tried at work. Turns out, I liked the French roast better. These are ok, and everyone's tastes vary, so YMMV, but I would recommend starting with 10, and seeing if you like it before committing to 160 cups. Overall, it's a nice smooth dark roast, with an attractive mouth feel, a smokey aroma, and fairly clean finish, but like I said, I prefer the French roast. My favorite K-cups of all time, however, remain the Barista Prima Italian roast, for leaded, and the Tully's French Roast Decaf, for unleaded.Full disclosure: I am a dark roast fan and I drink my coffee straight up.3surprised (really)Let me start by saying I enjoy this coffee. We I received this (which was on time), at first I thought something was broken in the box because I heard something rattling around. What I did not expect was to find 54 K-KUPS loose in a (big enough) box, this was not a Starbucks BOX, no way for me to visually inspect the expiration or best use buy date, did not want to send it back on this account, plus I was low on this coffee and have a hard time finding this. But I did get the IMPRESSION these 54 K-KUPS were just randomly gathered up and thrown in the box, I have purchased lesser quantity boxes of the same brand and flavor through the AMAZON website before, they always came in a identifiable Starbucks box with a date stamp, not sure what happen hear, but this has left me a bit leery about purchasing a 54 K-KUP count again3Delicious but expensiveAfter a couple of years of nothing but Barista Prima, I tried the Starbucks Sumatra Dark and fell in love with the rich, complex flavor. I was finding the Barista Prima tasting a little bitter and was very happy with the smooth, non bitter Starbucks. It is now my favorite. Still, it is Starbucks and it is expensive! Now I've switched to Green Mountain Sumatra reserve in order to save money, but I still keep a box of the the Starbucks for special occasions, or to treat myself. It's dark, rich, complex and delicious. The only reason I don't drink it daily is because it's simply too expensive.5Great tasting k-cup; finally! After owning a Keurig for about a year, I can still say that the Starbucks French Roast K-Cups are my favorite. In fact, I don't use other k-cups unless for some reason I'm out. When buying coffee from a coffee shop, my favorite would always be Starbucks (whatever dark roast). I also liked Dunn Bros, but really disliked Caribou. The reason I bring this up is because to me, most of the k-cups out there taste 'watered down', similar to how Caribou tastes for me. I realize not everyone has the same tastes which is why I provided this brief coffee profile of mine. Now I can still tell the difference between the K-cup french roast and the french roast brewed at Starbucks (or at home via a drip maker) but it's by far the closest you can get to a 'legit' cup of joe.Coming in a not-so-close second is the Cafe Verona and in a distant third, the Sumatra. Neither live up to the taste of their drip brewed brethren.4A treat for serious coffee lovers! My favorite coffee! This coffee is strong, bold, rich and delicious with no bottler aftertaste. I love making in my Keurig coffee maker as I have consistency for each and every cup. This coffee reminds me of the coffee I enjoyed in Europe as a teenager when I lived there during high school. This is certainly a treat for serious coffee lovers!5Domething not right with pods. For the first time since I have had numerous prior Starbucks order I am not happy. Each pod I have used thus far seemed to have a buldge in the middle. When the pod is punctured with the Keurig there were coffee grounds each time in each cup. There was no problem with the taste. I had other previous bought pods so used them as test pods ...no problem... when I used the new pods same problem coffee grounds each cup!1My wife has a terrible ulcer and this is the only coffee she can ...My wife has a terrible ulcer and this is the only coffee she can drink. Since it comes from a low acid region of the world the coffee, although it's a strong dark, is completely tolerable by her ulcer. If you've had stomach problems drinking dark coffee, give the Starbucks Sumatra a try. Been working for her for a couple of years.5RIPPED OFF... Product wasn't boxed, and k-cups crushed! This has always came in the original boxes, what I received was a plain card board box, with the k-cups just thrown in there (not in the original box). When I opened it up, I had crushed k-cups, more than a dozen busted, and another dozen punctured. I'm very big on expiration dates, and of course with k-cups, the expiration date is on the BOX that they are SUPPOSED to come in, but since they didn't, and were just independently just thrown in a generic cardboard box, I decided to try one, just to test it's freshness. It was STALE! I ended up going through 7 k-cups, until I finally had a fresh cup of coffee. I then decided to count my order, and was 24 k-cups short! I was just going to send this back, but I had to have something right away, as I was out of k-cups. I went through just those few stale ones, then went to walmart, bought some there to tie me over until I could receive another order, that was done right. Even if this had not been crushed etc. How would we, the consumer know the expiration of these k-cups? Not only that, but I ordered 180, how do you expect that to be stored individually, when not in boxes?!?!?1Quality Starbucks' Beverage Great Taste and AromaI ordered this item by mistake. I thought it was Taos Chai Tea Latte. I made a cup of the tea to try it. I had French Vanilla Coffee Mate at home, so I added it to the tea. (lots of it) Boy! Was I surprised. It tasted as good as a Starbucks Chai Tea Latte, and it cost half the price. From now on, I'm going to purchase this item, and keep the Coffee Mate on hand. I can't wait to have my homemade Taos Chai Tea Latte tomorrow morning.5Delicious, Strong, and Cost Effective. Combined with Keurig equipment you have a real winner.Great flavor, just like I was at Starbucks without the lines and drive to my local store. I combine this with a shot of espresso and ahhhh, taste so good. I purchased the Keurig K550 Brewing System and their Espresso, Cappuccino, & Latte System called Rivo. I am an end user and have this at my home so my review is legit. I love both machines and the Starbucks Sumatra is awesome. Want a big kick? Use the Sumatra and add 2 shot things from Lavazza "Intenso" expresso from the Rivo machine and MAN-O-MAN its Wide Awake time and off to work. Excellent taste, cheaper than at Starbucks and much more convenient. I buy the coffee, from Amazon. The Espresso Lavazza Intenso direct from Keurig on auto delivery and Life Is Good. I know this review is supposed to be about the coffee but its part of a whole system here and we all love it. The milk frothing part of the Rivo Espresso machine is really great. Its easy to use, easy to clean. Get this combination and you'll love it too. Enjoy. Starbucks, Amazon, and Keurig an excellent combination for flavor, ease of use, convenient for shopping. Doesn't get any better. I highly recommend the coffee and if you need equipment, check out Keurig's systems including the Rivo. You'll be glad you did. Enjoy.5
