Feels great!My chiropractor used this to loosen up my muscles before he put me on the stretcher and it s wonderful! I immediately bought one on amazon right at his office. I can use it myself and have good results but it s even better when my husband uses it on my back and even on my legs. Calves and all it really works good on my lower back which is a consistent problem for me and I m glad I finally found a product that gives me relief! Best investment I made in a long time!Thanks for a great product!!!5The StickThe Stick was used in my therapy to help me recover from knee surgery. It's a wonderful aid in massaging muscles. It inflicts a lot of pain when used correctly, but in the end, it definitely helps to pull all muscles back together. It helped in my posture and walk. As your muscles strengthens, the pain will start to diminish. Since my therapy is over, I will continue to use the Stick in my daily exercise routine.I've met other patients during my therapy who have purchased similar sticks, but I opted to purchase what the clinic used. It cost a little more, but I have the top of the line Stick. With any type of implant, there will always have to be exercise on the patient's part to keep the implant flexible.My orthopedic surgeon was very pleased that I purchased this item in my continuance to heal from a knee replacement.Great investment!5Must Have!The best massage stick out there. This one has a nice flex to it compared to other more rigid brands. I suspect that it might break eventually but I think the flexibility is worth the risk. If and when that happens, and hopefully not for a long long time, we will probably get another one. We have noticed almost instant relief. We also use a foam roller in combination with the stick massager as a daily practice in our home. However, my physical therapist suggested I get the full size one to use after my recent hip surgery, and it has been a total game changer. My partner and I just moved cross country, and being able to use this to loosen up my quads, IT band and hamstrings after a day in the car made my life that much less painful. I like it because the beads or rollers have give to them and it is longer allowing me to hold it better. The stick also bends quite a bit which it is designed to do. You will not regret the investment!5I'm a massage therapist and this is the best 40 bucks I've ever spentI'm a massage therapist and this is the best 40 bucks I've ever spent. It's great for self-massage (saves my thumbs from overworking), and pretty fantastic for working on cramping muscles. I'm a guy with hairy legs and arms and it doesn't catch, pinch, or pull hair. Even though the rollers look slippery I haven't had any trouble with them - they roll every time no matter how much or how little pressure I use.5Somewhat difficult to use if you really need itI am a runner. Not a great one, just a plodder; but I do run long distances (half marathons mostly). I have used foam rollers to help overcome IT Band tightness and quad and calf tightness when I do a little too much (or too early in the season!). I graduated to trigger point rollers a couple of years ago (they are built of a hard poly product that doesn't deform as much as foam rollers, nor degrade like foam rollers do). I find these trigger point rollers to be very good, but they are bulky for travel. I wanted to get this massage stick as a travel companion that is less bulky than trying to fit a big roller into my suitcase.The problem is getting the correct pressure on the effected muscles with this stick. It can be done, but it is particularly difficult for the IT Band, and that is my primary hot spot from running. The angles are just wrong to apply any pressure to that band of tissue that runs along the outside edge of your thigh, from hip to knee. The only real way that I can get any relief in the IT area is to have my wife apply the massage stick while I lie on my side. Problem is, she does not always travel with me!It find that it works fine on the quads and the calf muscles. The angles are just easier for those muscles, and pressure can be applied in controlled fashion fairly easily without help from anyone else.Bottom line... it works for certain areas like the quads, the calfs, really well for the back of the neck to about the shoulders, but is not useful for IT Bands, back anywhere from the neck line to the waist.For my needs, I will just have to "stick" with the foam or trigger point rollers.4Pain relief!I was introduced to a device like this during physical therapy. My surgeon sent me to PT for an IT Band issue. Wow, does the workout hurt (but in a good way!). If you have every had IT Band problems (I had to look it up because I had never heard of an "IT Band"), this device will work out the knots and lengthen your Band, making pain manageable (I had bi-lateral knee replacements and cannot alleviate the recurring pain). It also works wonders on neck and back kinks. It is now part of my daily arsenal against old age!5
