Tall people don't need compression stockings?Apparently none of the compression stocking vendors acknowledge that people come in different heights nor that compression stockings are NOT supposed to come to mid thigh. The correct measuring is from the floor to the top of the thigh - the "gluteal crevasse". The only manufacturer that does acknowlege this is Trueform. The Trueform men's 8848 are the only ones I've found that are long enough for me - 6'4". No compression stocking vendor even mentions the length, much less a "tall" size. I've contacted all the vendors and asked if a "tall" product was available - but no luck. And even Trueform does not offer a "tall" size with open toe.How can the whole industry of compression stockings ignore differing height requirements for different people? Duh. 4It does what it promises!These leggings, I got because I started lifting weights and was afraid I'd get more spider veins after discovering a little bit here and there. As it turns out, I didn't get any more (cross my fingers). I sometimes wear these socks after my gym workouts. It feels pretty good when I have them on, but only for an hour or so. I wouldn't recommend wearing these for long periods of time, again, probably not more than 3 or 4 hours. The band has little rubber or silicon dots on them to help them keep in place. Honestly, for me, that isn't even necessary. I am a bit taller than average for a female (a little more than 5' 6") with legs that usually don't fit most socks very well. I am not plus-sized however I usually require plus-sized tube socks, for example, from Torrid. These socks fits over my entire leg and will probably do just fine without the band. The compression really is stronger towards the toes and less towards the upper part. I wore them on a long car ride and my legs didn't feel as sore as they would normally be. 4All day comfort and supportI got the XL without measuring because I'm 6'3" and 175 lbs. Figured that would fit. I'm athletic, but skinny legs and even more so with post ACL surgery muscle atrophe. The sock fit perfectly. Trying to control post op swelling from 2 months out now. Foot usually goes numb or throbs. Needed mid thigh compression. This sock is comfortable all day. Down to one crutch finally and walking so need more support. Wore this about 14 hrs no problem. Very supportive. Fabric graduates up the leg. Relatively easy to get on. Took about 3 min. Stays up no problem. Very comfortable. It's really saving me right now. Just had it for two days and already noticing reduced swelling in knee and lower leg. 5Really good quality for the priceFor anyone who needs compression stockings that reach above the knee, these are an excellent value. They cost far less than stockings found in medical supply shops, and they have reduced the swelling around my ankles so effectively that my doctor was highly impressed. I have used them now for about ten weeks. They have withstood washing and drying with no discernible deterioration. I would recommend them to anyone who needs compression.I also found that the fit was "as described." 5as recommended by the doctorThe doctor wanted me to wear thigh high compression socks following minor outpatient surgery. I wore them for two days prior to the bandages being removed. I don't know if this is just thigh highs in general or if this brand caused the problem, but there is a circle around my thigh which was rubbed red raw from the top of these socks (still not completely healed after two weeks from the first time of wearing). I have tried wearing again since then, as recommended by the doctor, and I tried folding the tops down, which is less painful, but they still are uncomfortable. Any movement, i.e. walking, feels as though they are trying to slide down my leg and due to the compression, the socks are ripping hairs from my thigh! 2Worth Every PennyUsed in post knee replacement recovery. They are super nice - very well made. Every physical therapist who saw them wanted to know where I got them. They will last a good long while if treated well (wash cold, no fabric softener, line dry) - so much nicer than the compression stockings they provide at hospitals. After finally following instructions, I'm able to get into these in 20 seconds, out in 10. These are pretty firm, worked well, and stayed in place. I have an athletic leg with a large size difference between the ankle/calf/knee. The band was so tight....it felt like it was cutting off my circulation. The stocking part itself was super comfortable, but the band was way too tight. I will never buy these again....I will stick to paying $60 to$80 for Jobst!!!! 1Helped with pain in legs due to poor circulationBought for my stepfather because he was having problems with his circulation in his legs after standing all day. He said first one went on easy and the second one took a little longer but they fit well and really helped now that he got use to putting them on it takes him no time at all to put them on. He did start putting them on for short periods because he was afraid but now wears them for long periods of time. 5Really helped in reducing my swelling post surgery.After having a knee surgery go awry, I had massive amounts of swelling from my knee down. My physical therapist could push his thumb into my calf and leave an indentation there due to the amount of fluids I was retaining. He suggested I purchase compression socks to help alleviated the swelling. I purchased these, and he wanted to see the box. He was glad I bought a pair that had a 20-30 mmHg compression rating (which honestly, I'm not sure exactly what it means- but I know it satisfied my PT, so that was good enough for me). I wore one sleeve on my right leg throughout the day and specifically when I went to physical therapy or when I went to the gym. Within a week, I saw reduced swelling, and over next few weeks I the swelling was almost all gone. Next time, I would purchase a smaller size as I realized after you pull them up, if your legs aren't long enough, the sock will bunch up. 5
