The balls are great and I don't want to return those but I ...The DVD does not play on my computer. I emailed the company and they won't help me because I bought from Amazon. **see edit below**The balls are great and I don't want to return those but I would just like to know how to get the DVD to work on a Windows 10 computer.**edit** Update to say the Joe from Yamuna contacted me and suggested that I use a DVD player instead of a computer. It works on the DVD player. I think it strange that it works on some peoples computers and not others. I would prefer to watch it from my laptop and not my TV but at least I can watch it now.1These really do work. These really do work. I was struck down with plantar fasciitis in both feet about a month after I started rucking. I was shocked as I spend much of my time barefoot and have never had any issues with foot pain. I also run (although I'm not particularly fast) and had never had any foot pain from running. So... too much ruck weight too far too fast, I guess. The pain was mostly in my arches although I did have the burning / tingling / aching / swelling throughout the soles of my feet. Every step felt like being stabbed in the arches with a knife. It was agony.I tried many things, all of which helped: stretching my calves like it was my second job, foam rolling, going to massage therapist, using a night splint (which I never attempted to sleep in, but I did wear it while watching t.v.), rolling my foot on a lacrosse ball, wearing Crocs around the house (they helped a lot, but I sure did miss the sensory experience of bare feet). My feet improved significantly for day-to-day light activity, but if I walked more than a couple of gentle miles, my feet really started to hurt again. One time I had to sit down on the curb in some neighborhood and take my shoes off to massage my feet just so I could limp home. How embarrassing!I bought the Foot Wakers in desperation. They are expensive for basically plastic nubby things. At first, they hurt so bad I thought I was going to cry, but I've stuck with it, and 3 weeks later I am operating without any noticeable ongoing pain. I'm back to barefoot around the house, and I am building my ruck weight back up (gently this time!) with 1-hour long rucks. This past Saturday, I actually forgot to stretch my calves mid-way through my ruck because... nothing hurt?! It actually seemed kind of weird afterwards which is both sad and awesome, lol. That particular ruck was a little longer than planned, too, because I spent an extra 20 minutes helping a lady find her lost dog (Victory!). :)A few tips: Use them as often as you can, several times a day at least. If it hurts too much when you start out, wear socks which will blunt your suffering until the pain starts to improve. Eccentric calf raises on these have been very helpful for me. They come as a pair, but I take one to work during the week. This way I have one at home and one at work so I can always be working on my feet (even if it's just one foot at a time) without having to remember to carry them back and forth every day. They travel well, so don't forget to take them with you!5this is quite an amazing tool as others have describedI've had my eye on these for a while but hadn't bought them due to the price, which feels high for what you're getting. However, this is quite an amazing tool as others have described. I'm not on my feet all day (work at a desk), but I do workout a decent amount and have had some minor off and on again issues with my arch/achilles in the last couple of years. I finally bought the setup, and watched the first three routines on the DVD (sitting, standing, against a wall). Now I understand why these things are called "wakers". My feet feel much more alive, which I"m sure is due to circulation more than anything else. I can feel all of my toes easier and they feel like they have more flexibility and range of motion (although not as much as the people in the video). Given how much use our feet get and how little we stretch and treat them compared to other parts of the body, I think these things are vastly underrated. I used them before bed last night and still feel great positive effects the next day...they did get a little uncomfortable, but that was also my first time, and I gritted it out. I expect this tool to be a part of my home rotation, and I'll try to use them every few days.5Don't underestimate these.Don't underestimate these. I haven't even seen the DVD yet for training and they have helped my feet stretch and my fascia relax. I feel like my feet are better grounded and muscles are more responsive to balance. Myofascial release is very helpful to release your feet and calves and these units can help keep feet pliable. Double duty- use when blow drying my hair. I am a massage therapist so have given these for gifts to very grateful recipients. Awkward name though..not memorable..."yamooo...whaaaa?"5Only tool that's helped treat my fasciitis!Bought these under the recommendation of a sports therapy colleague who I was seeing to help with chronic foot pain, turns out it was plantar fasciitis (super common prognosis right?) and it was certainly nagging. I've been using these along with a regular stretching routine to reduce the impact and inflammation for a few months now and have found it to be the only product that really works for me.I've had the night-time stretch braces and those help the achilles and back of my calf and are a good part of strengthening but nothing works the same for active relief. Golf balls and spikier ones can poke too much at the angry tissue, I find these to be pliable enough that I can stand on them and roll my feet a round to help make it all better.I look forward to continuing their use and more relief, ideally improving enough with conditioning so that it goes away. These really do work!5Free at Last! Foot wakers are the real deal. Update: I would buy them again.UPDATE: July 2015. I'm still using this product and have continued to experience relief. I was experiencing such improvement that I stopped using these for several months. That was a big mistake. I returned to daily use of this product with the addition of a muscle roller in my daily routine. I still travel with this product and use it whenever I have a chance. My review is not to be considered medical advice.** Original Review ***I had plantar fasciitis foot pain for four years. I would crawl out of the bed in the morning and eventually force myself upright. Yes, you read that right. Crawl. On all fours due to painful feet. I spent money visiting orthopedic specialist and podiatrist. I took prescription pill after prescription pill. Through the years your mind numbs and you accept normal as a tolerable level of constant, soul-searching pain.It was in desperation that I sought out other alternatives. I found these foot wakers on Amazon and read every review. I laughed as I ordered them. I m ordering a dog chew toy. How could foot wakers help where all the medical specialists could not?I AM NOT LAUGHING NOW.These little knobby dog chew toys work. I did the seated routine at first, but needed the standing routine. Yes, foot wakers hurt. But when every day you have pain level 8-10, the discomfort felt while using the foot wakers was negligible. Maybe a 3 or 4. I noticed a difference the very next morning. I went to put weight on my feet and could actually do it! I didn t have to crawl or cry.Everyday since I continue to notice that my gait is better, my strides are longer, my pain level is less. There was actually a day that I had NO pain. And that was after less than a week of use.I have paid thousands of dollars to relieve my foot pain. If you told me that a 60 dollar product would work I would have gladly paid my money. I m happy to have them and now want another set to keep in my office. I know pain is subjective and everybody responds differently. For me, these freed me from years of pain. I highly recommend them.5These things are absolutely amazing for working on tight feetTHESE ARE A PERSONAL MASSEUSE FOR YOUR SOULS...err...SOLES.I have had plantar fasciitis, and work in the service industry PT and can be on my feet for 8-10-12 hours. These things are absolutely amazing for working on tight feet. They do seem a little pricey to me for a softball sized piece of plastic cut in half with little rubber nubs, but if you suffer from tight feet, at all, use these once, and you'll scoff at the price.5Relief that travels from the foot up! Worth every penny.I'm recovering from Plantar Fasciitis AND foot tendonitis and after three years of trouble have just plain old sore, cramping and tired feet. My new massage therapist told me about these so I gave them a try. WOW! These are the best thing to happen to my feet in YEARS. Love them. Easy to use, portable (I bring them to work and use on breaks) AND I get instant foot pain relief which lasts for hours. At least now I can be comfortable while I get to the root of my foot issues.5This really works! If you have foot pain or Achilles tendon pain, you really need to get this! My Pilates teacher had me use these for the pain I had in my foot and Achilles and I noticed some relief. I decided to buy it and use at home and it s made such a difference. It comes with a dvd and I ve been doing the routine for a few weeks now and the pain is basically gone. I can walk fast again and not feel pain later. When I stretch my Achilles tendon, it doesn t feel tight anymore. You really have to give it time and keep doing the exercises. It ll be uncomfortable and almost painful at first, but you get used to it. Just start off with the sitting exercises for awhile before moving to the standing exercises. This purchase is so worth it!5and my whole body is working better as a resultMy Pilates instructor turned me on to this (she's trained in the technique). I have an old injury in my left foot that has impacted my entire body over time. And not enough stability in that foot to be active with out injuring. I did 6 months of PT, which helped a lot, but I was still having issues. Using this system I have increased both the strength and flexibility of my foot, and my whole body is working better as a result. I also recommended a client with diabetes try it. She was having pain in her feet due to decreased circulation. She happily reported back that she's experiencing less pain and able to be more active as a result of using this system. Very pleased and impressed.5
